Just when it looked like there would be some major reform "Business as Usual" reared it's ugly head and the once promising proposed reform has morphed into a last ditch "Well this is better than nothing" proposal that will be on the January 29th referendum.

The highlights, doubling the homestead exemption to $50,000 (why even bother) and making the save our homes 'portable' doesn't seem to be enough to interest voters...

We will see.

Below is the calculator for the initial proposal that has since died would have maxxed out the homestead exemption at $195K.  Who knows, perhaps they'll revisit this someday as the current proposal is not near enough.
